Every web hosting company set a usage limit to their client hosting account, this including mysql database connection and request limitation. Its very important to check on the limit cap, and make sure its not too low and causing mysql database connection or query error when you reach the limit gap. This is why we checked on lunarpages mysql database limit as well, and we found as following:

“Up to 50 simultaneous connections per MySQL user, and up to 1500 simultaneous connections per server.“

As you see above, lunarpages allow up to 50 mysql connection at one time, which means your php scripts can have that number of thread at the same time making connection to mysql database. And making a total of 1500 connection per server. But it doesnt mention number of simultaneous query per user. Bottom line is that, this mysql limits is very high, and should be no problem for most websites.

In generally, lunarpages hosting is a large web hosting company offering wide range of web hosting services which including shared hosting, windows hosting, reseller hosting, vps hosting, dedicated server, and web design services. A complete range of web hosting product and services can be found at lunarpages web hosting.

A good web hosting company need to have a good technical support team. How good is lunarpages support team? Is lunarpages support team easily accessible? What is the waiting time and response time from lunarpages support team? You need to find out these!

Lunarpages support team can only be reach through phone support or email support. Either you give them a phone call or create an email ticket to reach lunarpages support. Lunarpages problem is that they not having live chat support available online!! Lunarpages live chat only available for sales chat, no technical support chat available at this moment.

With my 19 months of hosting experience with lunarpages, its quit hard to get reach of lunarpages support team through email ticket. Expect waiting time up to few hours or even the next day. For example my website went down few hours ago, not sure whats the problem. There is no live chat support and thus i can’t inform technical support team on the spot. And if i create an email ticket, it would take hours and my website might be up running already. For critical issue and issue with urgency, their support service need to be improved.
